Sign of the Dragon

Sign of the Dragon
Sign of the Dragon After nearly dying at the hands of terrorists in Alaska, the MacGregors move on to China. The discovery of rare dinosaur bones near Shenyang, China, spurs the action of the MacGregor family in this fifth adventure of their round-the-world travels. Dr. Mavis MacGregor leaves the family in Beijing so that she can pursue her study of the feathered dinosaur, while Chris, Heather, R.O., and Natalie fly to Chengdu to explore a wilderness outpost in the Wolong Panda Reserve. It is there that they discover a link between animal exports, the illegal dinosaur bone trade, and corrupt Chinese officials. Meanwhile, Dr. Jack MacGregor attends an environmental conference at the world’s largest dam project, the Three Gorges Dam at Sandouping. Unbeknownst to the MacGregors, they stroll into the middle of a medieval feud between two tai-pans who are struggling to regain control of China. As the family kayaks in the Tibetan highlands on a Class IV river, fights panda poachers, and wonders at the beauty of Asia during a breathtaking flight across China, they are thrown into an adventure worthy of book five in the series and one that only MI6, the British Secret Intelligence Service, can resolve! Sign of the Dragon is an adventure that MacGregor Family Adventure Series fans will love.

“When Mavis is held hostage along with two fellow paleontologists in order to verify the authenticity of a rare feathered dinosaur fossil, MI6 becomes involved. But MacGyver-like Chris rescues her in a scene right out of an adventure flick….The action scenes are mostly well done–nonstop and easily envisioned. Family relationships and characters–even incredibly brilliant, athletic Chris–are believable. What family does not need a superhero?”
The Daily Oklahoman – Oklahoma’s Largest Newspaper, Jan. 2008
“A thrill-packed ride.”
