Chris MacGregor Adventures Competes with the Young James Bond Series

Fresh from training with the Australian Navy Seals, Chris MacGregor is armed with new survival skills, the ability to fly fixed wing aircraft as well as helicopters, enhanced diving skills, and a new mission in life as he turns 18.  There is nothing that the young James Bond has on Chris MacGregor as he travels the world in search of adventure with Natalie, 18, Heather, 15, and R.O, 13.  Young adults who love adventure, action, and romance will identify with Chris MacGregor as he has grown into this role following adventures in the Caribbean, East Africa, Egypt, Alaska, China, the South Pacific, and Central America. Upcoming adventures in Australia and New Zealand will have readers turning pages as fast as they can!

Author Visit Made Easy for Schools

To have Professor Trout visit your school the school would agree to sell his novels for $15.95, the retail price, that they could purchase from Pelican Publishing Company for a 40% discount which is about $6.00 per book savings.  The profit from the book sales could then be used to meet Professor Trout’s fee of $400 per visit for a whole day or roughly 3-4 presentations.   At a recent book fair in Oklahoma City, over 40 novels were sold to students, parents, and teachers.  That meant that the school would have nearly $250 to apply toward the author visit fee and would be out only $150, a real bargain during these days of tight budgets.  Contact Professor Trout or Caitlin Smith at Pelican for details.  The $400 fee includes all schools within 250 miles of Oklahoma City and increases by $50 per 100 miles.  If an overnight stay is required there will be other costs to consider.

Summer of Rest!

This past summer of rest was much needed.  Eclipse of the Jaguar, #7 in the MacGregor Family Adventures was finished last spring and sent to the publisher.  However, it won’t be out until 2010.  Seems the entire publishing industry is in a downward spiral right now.  In fact, it may be released in soft cover with a lower price.  That would be a good thing for readers who like to buy their own copies.  So this summer was spent by the pool every day, reading new books and research for the next adventure in Australia and healing up a damaged back from a not so adventurous fall on the ice in front of Hefner Middle School, Putnam City Schools.  The swimming is important to get everything back in shape for the strenuous dives on the Great Barrier Reef in 2010.
